Responding to Dave2D's "I'm Starting to Hate Apple" Video
Shots Fired!
So Dave2D, one of the best laptop/tech reviewers on YouTube, just released a scathing video on the state of Apple hardware. Mainly their Laptop/Desktop options. He covers points everywhere from their completely outdated Intel 7th Gen chips in their Pro laptops, to the odd bundles like ECC Ram in the iMac Pro models, to the terrible repair policy that's been plaguing Apple for years. I decided to respond to this video, not to defend Apple, but rather, support some of his arguments, while also being critical of his comments as well.
As a reviewer who receives the latest and greatest hardware all the time, it's easy to forget how incapable most Window's laptops are. He also skips over the extremely priced Windows options, that resemble the Mac on design, but includes the highly specced hardware he wants, like the $3000 Razer Blade 15 2018. Not too mention, he forgets to compare Premiere against Final Cut, which in my opinion is the most optimized video editor available. And he must compare the two because of how Premiere is an optimization issue, rather than an Apple issue. As we can see with Final Cut Pro X, Apple Hardware is perfectly capable at high end video editing, so long the software is optimized.
Anyways, let me know what you think of Dave's video, and what you think of mine, by leaving your comments down below!

Lets the Games Begin

Best of Xbox E3 2018
So here at NoLife, we constantly clown on Microsoft or more specifically, Xbox. From the console that dominated the "HD" wave of the 2000's, we have since claimed they have lost their way. Moving more towards an extremely powerful home media PC, the focus on games and must-have IP's has since strayed. But this year's E3 showing might have been their most impressive yet. This article will breakdown my favorite moments from the conference, and hopefully add some much needed hype to their momentum.

Halo Infinite
I'm not the biggest Halo fan. I do enjoy the games and the first Halo to me was is by far the most memorable. But I seem to be in the minority, and a new Halo made by 343 Studios is already garnering hype from my friends and the internet. In the trailer, we saw no gameplay. Instead, we saw a beautifully rendered 60fps scenes that showcase 343 Studios new "Slip Space" game engine. The first thing I thought was how close it resembled the Decima engine. But we can expect Halo Infinite to run perfectly and optimized for the hardware of the Xbox One X.

Fallout 76
We already got a teaser from Bethesda on their Twitch channel a few days ago on their Twitch channel, so we expected them to put out some gameplay footage at E3. Unfortunately, we did not get any, but we did get a bit more context to the new Fallout universe thanks to some voiceovers during the teaser. Fallout being one of my favorite series, since the first, it's a game that I can't wait to see more of.

Nier Automata: Become as Gods Edition
This is one of the most underrated games I've ever played. To this day, none of the No Life crew except for me, has enjoyed the odd, fast paced, black-leather-laden, steel-aluminum-techno destroying world created by Platinum Games. Easily one of the favorite games of last year, it's great to see its getting some attention on Xbox with hopefully a revamped version.

Kingdom Hearts 3
I've only played the first Kingdom Hearts, and I didn't immediately fall in love with the game like many others. I'm more indifferent towards the series. But after seeing more gameplay from this title, I'm looking forward to get another fast paced action-RPG set in the familiar (and G-rated) Disney & Pixar universe.

Xbox Game Pass Updates
The entire reason I got an Xbox One X was because of the promise of Game Pass. Now I knew it would be a slow start for the "Netflix for Gaming" service, but it's been a few months now and I still haven't used it once. There just aren't many games coming out in the time I purchased it. Well thanks to this conference, I can actually start paying for it again and get some use out of it, since most of the Xbox exclusives will be available upon release. And right now, Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 4, and The Division can all be played right now with the game pass. The more people start purchasing this, the quicker the dream of an instant-play game service for ALL titles will be realized.

Tunic
This is a new title that got my mouth watering. I'm a sucker for this gorgeous pseudo-16bit art style that this game encompasses. And I'm also a sucker for easy to lear, hard to master, action RPG's. So it's safe to say as soon as we saw some of this Zelda-like ARPG, Tunic, I couldn't wait to hear more.
Sea of Thieves: Cursed Sails/Forsaken Shores DLC
Haha just kidding. Who gives a fucking shit about this dumb game.

Forza Horizon 4
We're on to the 4th installment of this more arcade style of Forza. I like Forza much more, mainly because I like Racing sims more. The feel of a real racing wheel on my hands, the excitement of the force feedback, the immersion, it's just better. But sometimes it is nice to kick my feet up, grab a controller, and rip some exotic cars through some exotic landscapes. So with that said, this game looks pretty cool.

The Division 2
I was a fan of the first Division...for about a week. After which, the constant grind of shooting bullet sponges got stale. Supposedly, the game did pick up a bit more towards the later days. But I'm hoping they took what they learned and immediately implementing it in this new installment. We saw some gameplay, and for the most part, it looks exactly the same. But this is a game that I do want to know more about.
NOW ON TO THE MOST EXCITING NEWS OUT OF ALL OF E3...
NOW ON TO THE MOST EXCITING NEWS OUT OF ALL OF E3...

Battletoads
Just kidding. We heard it was coming, though we sort of thought it was a myth, or more appropriately, a meme. But it looks like it's coming to the Xbox. Am I excited for this? No. I just thought you'd get a kick out this.
Ok, now we're onto the most exciting thing from E3...
Cyberpunk 2077
We finally know more about CD Projekt Reds new IP. I explore you to watch the teaser trailer above to get a better understanding of what to expect. In summary, we're getting this dystopian/matrix-like future world outfitted with very interesting characters, adult themes, and badass cars, lots of badass cars. If you've been following NoLife, you'll know that we regard The Witcher 3 as one of the greatest games ever made. So living up to that hype is a very difficult task. But CDPR has been hard at work (and very silent) about this new game, which only means their heads are down in their keyboards working, which is the reason we will pay them big bucks for this experience. I can't wait.
There were also a few other titles that piqued my interest, but didn't make the list. Also, there were titles that are cross platform that I'm very excited about - like Battlefield 5 - but I didn't put them on here because it wasn't "part" of the conference. That said, I'm impressed with Microsoft's showing so far. If they can just focus on good games, and a large variety of them, along with great exclusive titles, then I'm sure they can start to swing some sales in their favor. Unfortunately, Sony's showing, just from what we know, is so stacked, that I don't think any company can compete. But we shall see. For now, load up your laggy PUBG, and wait till summer.
